The Olmec head, a loan of unprecedented scale between Mexico and the Louvre Abu Dhabi, embodies a unique cultural dialogue and presented an exceptional logistical and museographic challenge. CUBIC travelled to Mexico to study and plan the assembly in Abu Dhabi of this head, which is over 3,200 years old and weighs 5,800 kg. A discreet wedge system ensures its safety, while the laser-cut covers are perfectly adapted to its shape.
